BEAST FROM THE EAST is a monstrous plant that commands attention with its 43" scapes with sturdy 4-way branching and 29 buds. And it instantly reblooms adding another 13 buds. This bud-building and gently ruffled 9" yellow self with a green throat is also diamond dusted and fragrant. BEAST FROM THE EAST has flawless and hardy semi-evergreen foliage from CONSPIRACY THEORY X UNKNOWN. Nobody can walk past this one without noticing it. Begins blooming in the early mid-season and continues blooming for most of the summer. Pollen fertile here and may be pod fertile in cooler climates. Tetraploid.
So pretty.....CASANOVA CLUB is a 9" bud-building purple cascade with a huge light lavender watermark and a diamond-dusted chartreuse throat. Ideal 39" scapes have 4-way branching averaging 23 buds. Easily fertile both ways even in hot weather. From a cross of two seedlings ((Seedling x WEBSTER GIRLS) X (LINGERING LOVE X JUDY'S WORLD)), CASANOVA CLUB starts blooming in the early mid-season and delights for most of the summer with perfect presentation. Makes a stunning clump. Flawless, dormant plant habit. Tetraploid. Very limited with collection buyers taking priority.
COASTAL WEDDING is a bud building 8 1/2" lilac bitone with an orchid watermark, a wide cream yellow and chartreuse throat, and both veined and serrated edges. One of my most complex faces to date getting more complex as the summer heats up. Very fragrant! Scapes are 33 inches with 4-way branching averaging 29 buds. Begins in the mid-late season and reblooms well into the late season. Fertile both ways with ideal dormant plant habit from (LINGERING LOVE X JUDY'S WORLD) X MACON MONEY. Tetraploid.
CONTRARY MARY is a 7 1/2" bud-building rose pink with a cream pink watermark and large deep-set ruffles highlighted by fine pink edges. It wasn't exactly the outcome I expected by crossing A HEART APART with a seedling ((MAKE IT SNAPPY x UNKNOWN) X (LOUD GIRLS x WALT LOWRY)). Despite the rounder form, the tall and stately 38" scapes with their widely spaced 3-way branching averaging 17 buds won me over by doling out picturesque blooms over a long season. CONTRARY MARY is easily fertile both ways even in hot weather producing fat, full seedpods. Starts blooming in the mid-season and has beautiful dormant foliage. Tetraploid.
The girl who has it all....beauty, distinctive features, graceful form, great plant habit, and smells really nice, too! COOL GIRLS is a 9 1/2 to 10" dark lavender spatulate/cascade unusual form with a diamond-dusted orchid and cream yellow watermark and a chartreuse throat. As the heat of the summer increases, the ruffled edges are lined with purple and light lavender. Scapes are 34" with 4- and 5-way branching that average 23 buds. COOL GIRLS starts blooming in the late season and reblooms for very late season color that isn't yellow or orange! Hardy, dormant plant habit from (WHITE EYE'S PINK DRAGON X (LINGERING LOVE X JUDY'S WORLD)). Fertile both ways, but pods take persistence. A personal favorite. Tetraploid.
I'm excited to introduce my first "color-changing" watermark. SMOKING IN THE BOYS ROOM is an 8" dark purple cascade with a diamond-dusted chartreuse throat that starts blooming in the early mid-season with a smoky blue-gray watermark. As the summer heats up, the watermark changes to a multi-hued watermark with navy, light purple, charcoal, and a dark purple pencil line that drifts through the watermark. I've seen multi-hued eye zones in a few southern evergreens but never in a hardy, dormant plant. From my HIGH WATER LINE X SULTRY GIRLS, SMOKING IN THE BOYS ROOM has tall 38" scapes with ideal 5-way branching, 20 buds, and it reblooms for a long bloom season. Fragrant, too! It's easily fertile both ways even when it's hot, offering line bred, hardy genetics for serious hybridizers. Tetraploid. Very limited with collections taking priority.
TEAM PINK is a 9" bright rose pink crispate with a lighter pink watermark, a chartreuse throat, and fine white edges. Scapes are 33" with 4- and 5-way branching, 20-27 buds and it reblooms adding an additional 9 buds. Begins blooming in the early season for a long bloom season that lasts thru the summer. Easily fertile both ways. From two seedlings ((Seedling x REGINA SITKO) x (LOUD GIRLS x WALT LOWRY)), it's a wonderful season extender with hardy, dormant plant habit. Splendid in a clump for bouquets of blooms. Tetraploid.
VIRGINIA GIRLS is an 8" rose red cascading unusual form with a pink watermark and a diamond-dusted chartreuse throat the begins blooming in the mid-late season and then reblooms to extend your bloom season into the very late season. Sunfast and the hotter it gets, the curlier it becomes. Scapes are 33" with 3- and 4-way branching that average 19 buds. Excellent semi-evergreen foliage. From ROSES FOR DALLAS X JUDY'S WORLD, it's hardy and easily fertile both ways. Tetraploid.
